“Apps”, less than 5 years after the term was popularized, signifies some serious stuff in India: the front door for all businesses, opportunity for entrepreneurship and innovation in smaller towns and cities, creation of enormous core and ancillary job opportunities. The faint whispers of an “Apps Economy” in the US in 2009, therefore, are becoming a loud and serious topic of discussion across the world in 2012.
With AppFest 2012, IAMAI hopes to create the first of its kind forum for all stakeholders in the apps economy in India.
Keeping the innovator/developer/entrepreneur at the centre, AppFest 2012 has three tracks:
– TALKATHON – Sharing of ideas on technology, revenue models and current opportunities
– HACKATHON – On spot search, competition and awarding of innovation by individuals and in prompt groups
– CHALLENGATHON – On spot creation of customized solutions for brands present and the immediate opportunity to work with them on larger projects
