Building effective networks: Entrepreneurial leaders need to manage their personal networks in order to acquire key resources required to build their growth venture. In this session, Professor BalaGopal Vissa provides tools that will help entrepreneurs diagnose their personal network as it stands currently and identify strategies and tactics to adapt / change personal networks to make them a more useful and effective mechanism to drive their venture’s success.

What they aim to do: A contest (“Find a Funder” contest) in which new venture founding teams will work within a short time frame (approximately 3 days) to make contact with a panel of distinguished early stage investors. They have handpicked the panel and will brief them that winning teams will win an opportunity to send their venture’s pitch slide deck and get a careful hearing and feedback from the investor. This contest is not only an opportunity to pitch to this panel, but to also gain general skills, of how to mobilize their social networks.
