ARCH DAKSHIN 2016 – Southern Regional Conference in Hyderabad on August 19-20, 2016
The Southern Regional Conference, a Biannual event, is a Congregation of Architects with focus and participation of architects from the Southern Region.
The Indian Institute of Architects, Telangana State Chapter were the winners of SRC –Trophy (Rolling Trophy) in 2014, and are privileged to now host the Mega Celebration of Southern Region of Architects –ARCH DAKSHIN-2016
IIA observes the centenary year and the “Celebration of Creativity”
The Conference is being organised on the theme of Collaborative Architecture -Technology and Inclusiveness in Practice.
In recognition of value-creation in designing our dynamic world today, with constantly evolving technologies and changing environments, the architectural practice demands a widening of perspective. When diverse points of view and ideas from various architects, consultants, manufacturers and end-users in the architectural field are put together, design innovation happens.
Another interesting sub theme is “Architect Beyond Architecture”. In this segment we will invite qualified architects who have adopted and explored different professions and achieved excellence in fields like cartooning, film making, manufacturing, structural engineering, politics etc. We would like to hear from them how their architectural upbringing has helped them shape their chosen careers.
SRC TROPHY :
As the winner of SRC Rolling trophy, the chapter is organising number of events to encourage active participation from all the chapters and the Chapter(other than Host) with outstanding performance, will win the Trophy, and retain the same until the next SRC.
Trophy will be based on these events and achievements in the events as given below:

On Stage events: Quiz ,Architectural Debate, Cultural Event
Off stage events: Photography and Sketching on selected themes.
An eminent jury will grade the events and participation from different Chapters. (Host will participate but will not be in the race for the Trophy)
DAKSHIN EXPO 2016
IIA Arch Dakshin Expo’16, a two day concurrent B to B event shall be inaugurated in the morning of 19thAug, The expo will be visited by more than 1000 architects apart from allied Professionals, consultants, budding architects.
Mega exposition of Building Materials, Architectural Products and emerging technologies, sustainable and innovative Products is planned.
