Bangalore Open Air has long been considered to be the biggest Rock & Heavy Metal festival in India. The festival saw its inception in 2012 and has gone from strength to strength in every subsequent year, garnering rock fans from all over the country while simultaneously building a world-class reputation for itself. The festival is powered by Wacken Open Air (Germany), which is the largest heavy metal festival in the world.
Over the years Bangalore Open Air has proven to be a virtual mecca for rock fans from all over the Indian subcontinent and many parts of Asia as well, uniting thousands of music fans from all walks of life for a once in a lifetime experience every year. The 7th edition of the festival is scheduled to take place on the 9th Feb 2019 and is expected to bigger and better than ever before.
Primarily a festival focusing on the youth, it has literally captured the imagination of music fans from far and wide while featuring over 40 international artists, many of whom boast iconic stature in the rock and heavy metal world. The festival also promotes local talent and has seen some of the sub-continent’s finest artists grace its stages.
At present, it is the only Bangalore-based festival that has managed to not only survive, but also thrive over such a long period. With audiences increasing every single year, the festival shows no signs of slowing down, especially since it has caught the eye of international rock and metal publications and media.
