Shreya Ghoshal first caught director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s attention
when she participated in the singing championship, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. He
then offered her the opportunity to sing a few playbacks in Devdas
which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer as
well as Filmfare`s RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. She also won
the National Film Award for the song Bairi Piya.

She has also been a judge for Star Voice Of India-Chhote Ustaad with
singer, Kunal Ganjawala and composer, Pritam. She also judged X Factor
(India) with Sonu Nigam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Shreya Ghoshal has lent her voice to many actresses in both Bollywood
and Southern movies. She has so far won four National and Filmfare
Awards for Best Female Playback Singer category. Ghoshal was also
regarded an honour from the State of Ohio by governor Ted Strickland
declaring June 26 as Shreya Ghoshal Day.
