Kalpavriksha is the flagship social business plan competition of Ahvan, the management fest of IIM Indore. Kalpavriksha strives to create a positive societal impact by providing a forum for self sustainable business plans which seek to sensitize its participants about the responsibility and the potential difference they can make. The competition gives an opportunity to students from select B-schools and young social enterprises across India to showcase their ideas, talent and creativity and battle it out for the top honour and a prize money of INR 1,50,000.
The event will comprise of four phases. It is open for both students and corporate (category 1) and 0-2 years old social enterprises (category 2). In phase 1, the teams will have to submit an executive summary of the business plan for a self-sustainable social venture. At the end of phase 1, we would select 10 teams from each category. The business plans from 20 teams would be invited and 3 teams from each category move to the mentor stage, which is phase 3. In phase 4, these six teams would present their business plan to a panel of investors and industry experts who decide the final winner from each category.
Description of Categories
Category 1 – Mainly comprises of any socially relevant business idea. Participating team can be from any recognized institute or corporate team
Category 2 – Any 0-2 year old social enterprise, including student enterprises started and/or incubated in IITs and similar institutions.
