JioSaavn – Live Anywhere: Kamakshi Khanna

JioSaavn, India’s largest music and audio entertainment streaming service, is announcing its initiative to keep live music, and artists’ incomes, alive. For the month of April, and possibly longer, a series of independent artists will take to the virtual stage for 20 or 30-minute performances on JioSaavn’s Instagram Live. The audio recording of each session will then be hosted as an album for streaming within the JioSaavn app. 100% of the revenue generated from these streams will go directly to the artist.

Kamakshi Khanna is a singer/songwriter and recording artiste born and brought up in Delhi and now based in Mumbai. Her journey as a solo artist began in 2014 when she launched her first EP, Much Mellow. In 2015, she made her Debut TV appearance as one of the top 6 contestants on India’s first English Singing reality show, The Stage with esteemed judges like Devraj Sanyal, Monica Dogra, Vishal Dadlani and Ehsaan Noorani aired on VH1 India and Colors Infinity. After which she worked closely with the Bollywood duo, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa in conducting Songwriting workshops across the country. In 2016, she released her debut Album, Cakewalk under one of the top record labels in India, Times Music with which she performed a multi-city album launch tour including noteworthy festivals like NH7 Weekender Shillong and Pune, Rhythm N Blues Festival, Kasuali, Lil Flea Festival, Delhi and many more. Her debut album walks you through different eras of sound, interpreting it in the artist’s simplistic style of songwriting. There is a note for everyone there. The album was featured on various media platforms like Rolling Stones India, The Hindu, Travel & Leisure Magazine, etc. Her sound is the amalgamation of the old and new, transcending age groups to appeal to everyone alike. From beautiful, hummable melodies to meaningful and relatable lyrics to a voice that heals, she hopes for her music to be a source of comfort and solace for people. In 2017, she performed her first ever solo US tour across cities like New York, Austin and LA and ever since has been touring across the whole country both with her band and as a solo performer. She has co-written and collaborated with various renowned artists in the country like Karsh Kale, Tarana Marwah, Abhilasha Sinha, Dhruv Visvanath, Maalavika Manoj, Tejas Menon, Raghav Meattle, the band, Euphoria and many others.
