Michael League (Bandleader – Snarky Puppy, Composer, Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist)

Grammy Award winner Michael League formed Snarky Puppy in his freshman year of college at the University of North Texas, originally consisting of him and nine of his peers. He composed most of their original music, as well as produced all albums released by the band. He has performed or recorded with artists including Laura Mvula, Lalah Hathaway, Joe Walsh, Chris Thile, Michael McDonald, Terence Blanchard, Esperanza Spalding, Joshua Redman, Wayne Krantz, Chris Potter. Michael currently serves as musical director for David Crosby in his Lighthouse touring band, alongside Becca Stevens and Michelle Willis.

Shaan (Playback Singer)

Shaan, is an Indian playback singer active in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, Telugu and Kannada films and a celebrated television host. He hosted the shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, Star Voice of India and STAR Voice of India 2. In Music Ka Maha Muqabla, his team, Shaan’s Strikers, finished as the runners up to Shankar Mahadevan’s team. Shaan also started his career at a very young age of 17 years and he has been showered with titles such as “Golden Voice of India”, “Voice of Paradise”, “Magician of Melody”, and “Voice of Youth”.

Jason Camelio (Assistant Vice President – Global Initiatives, Berklee College of Music)

Jason is a composer, arranger, songwriter, trombonist, guitarist, producer and global educational programs and partnerships developer. Recordings he has co-produced, written and/or performed on include Phil Wilson’s From the Vault, Vol. 1 with Alex Leiva; “Atom Bomb” and “This is DÚBH” by DÚBH. As the assistant vice president for global initiatives at Berklee, Jason works with a range of creative and passionate people from educational, business and government entities; developing opportunities for skilled, talented and motivated performing artists to reach their career goals. Jason engages globally with top performing arts institutions, festivals, artists and students.

Ankur Tewari (Story Teller, Singer, Songwriter, Lyricist, Poet)

Ankur Tewari is a man of many talents. Whilst moonlighting as a singer – songwriter, he is also a composer, music supervisor & poet. Recently, Ankur Tewari supervised the music behind the blockbuster Bollywood movie Gully Boy which won him multiple accolades from Filmfare and other renowned film guilds. Besides Gully Boy, he has also supervised the music for multiple Netflix projects such as Yeh Ballet by Sooni Taraporevala & Guilty by Ruchi Narain to name a few. Ankur & The Ghalat Family comprises Sidd Coutto, Johan Pais, Vivaan Kapoor & Gaurav Gupta – who are soulfully creating some of the grooviest folk rock & acoustic ballads along with Hindustani influences. The band is revered as one of the most innovative Hindi rock bands in India.

Moderator: Ashu Phatak (Music Composer, Producer, Co-founder of True School of Music and BlueFROG)

Ashu, as he is better known, is an award-winning multi-instrumental music composer and producer, who has released over 15 contemporary music albums in the past two decades. He is one of the most sought-after composers in advertising and films, having composed music for over 3,000 television commercials and the soundtracks for 10 feature films. He composed the music for the acclaimed documentary, Fire in the Blood, nominated in the World Cinema category at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival 2013.
