The Nise Gel Goa Marathon is an annual event organized for the cause of Homes for the Homeless and Hope for the Hopeless. It serves runners from all skill levels, from the first time marathoners to veteran racers, runners, run-walkers and walkers.
Brought to you by El Shaddai Charitable Trust and Habitat for Humanity India, and supported by the Goa Athletic Association, this marathon is one of the most interesting and enjoyable marathons in India, as you get a chance to race along the scenic River Mandovi. Every penny collected through this event is used to build safe homes for people from marginalized communities and to bring happiness and hope to the underprivileged children of society.
El Shaddai Charitable Trust and Habitat for Humanity are partnering to host the Nise Gel Goa Marathon 2015 on 1st March, 2015 for the fourth consecutive year.
The event aims to raise funds to provide:
Safe and decent homes for families in need
Sanitation facilities for target communities
Educational centers for children in Goa and the Konkan region
The Goa Marathon 2014 was a great success with over 2000 students, corporate executives and defense personnel who participated in the event and tested their mettle on the 21 km, 10K, 5 km and school run, which started and ended at the Campal Ground. The event that was supported by a media campaign created a buzz across Goa and attracted spectators besides participants.
The 2015 edition promises to be better and even bigger with an aim to reach 4000 participants and raise even more funds for the objectives stated above.
