Headliners ft Kunal Kamra, Tanmay Bhat & Urooj Ashfaq | Mangalore

This is the ultimate in comedy! One night, three top comics. It’s a breathless evening of laughter. As soon as you’re done ROFLing over one set, comes some LOLs from the next. It’s a glorious celebration of some of the biggest names in comedy, all under one roof… A roof that is constantly in danger of falling down because of all the laughter that ensues.

Tanmay Bhat
One of the most instantly identifiable comedians in the country, Tanmay is the co-founder of edgy comedy collective AIB. He has written, directed and acted in several of their best comedy videos and projects, such as AIB Knockout (India’s first ever comedy roast), AIB Diwas (a full-day open-air comedy show), On Air with AIB (the satirical news show telecast on primetime television and Hotstar), and AIB Presents Royal Turds (a Bollywood-themed spoof award show). He has performed all over India, Dubai, The Comedy Store in London, the world’s largest arts festival (Edinburgh Fringe) in Scotland and Singapore. He’s also written for the Filmfare Awards, and moonlights as a humour columnist with Firstpost and Time Out Mumbai. His television credits include India’s first English sketch comedy special Ripping The Decade on Star World. Excitingly, for fans, he has recently got back on the stand-up stage and is trying out new material.

Urooj Ashfaq
Urooj Ashfaq is one of the most sought after young talent, among the new generation of comics taking the scene by the storm. Urooj is a 22 year old girl from Bombay, who found her first claim to fame through the TLC show, Queens of Comedy, where she was one of the finalists and a comedy force to reckon with. After the success of the show, Urooj has travelled across the country with her stand up act and performed along side some of the stalwarts, like Kanan Gill, Kenny Sebastian & Biswa Kalyan Rath. Apart from stand up comdey, Urooj has also worked on numerous projects as a comedy writer and put her wits to best use, in both fiction & non-fiction formats. She has also acted in multiple comedy properties (AIB’s If Apps were people, When some is sick sketches).

Kunal Kmara
An advertising junkie by day and comedy man by night, Kunal Kamra has been leading a double life for close to five years now. The comedian once said in an interview, “On stage, I do not believe in drawing a line — that’s reserved for jokes that are unfunny,” a statement true to his style of comedy. His humor channels his unfiltered thoughts and his speeding thinking process points towards the absurdities of life, making him produce one great set after another. The comedian started performing professionally in 2013, with his first ever show at the glorious BlueFrog, Mumbai (RIP). The comedian is now a regular at the all the big comedy venues in the country, and has a dedicated fan following (despite him tasing them at this live shows with his witty barbs). In 2017, Kunal launched his podcast “Shut Up Ya Kunal” which showcases guests and discussions based around a youngsters everyday life. His recent show Punchliners presents his jaded view on advertising life, thanks to being overworked and underpaid.
