Join Alok V Menon, an internationally acclaimed author, poet, comedian, public speaker and a pioneer for fiercely being your true self as they bring their unique blend of comedy, poetry and music show to their homeland, India!

Kommune presents Alok India Tour where you get to witness Alok V Menon’s unapologetic humour and powerful poetry along with other incredible artists from across the country come together for a show that will have you laughing, crying and sometimes crying laughing!

About Alok:

Alok V Menon is the creator of #DeGenderFashion: a movement to degender fashion and beauty industries and have been honored as one of HuffPo’s Culture Shifters, NBC’s Pride 50, and Business Insider’s Doers. They are also the author of Femme in Public (2017), Beyond the Gender Binary (2020), and Your Wound/My Garden (2021). Over the past decade they have toured in more than 40 countries, most recently headlining the Vancouver Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and selling out their runs at the Soho Theatre in London and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

On screen, they will make their feature film debut in Absolute Dominion. On television, they have appeared on Netflix’s Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness, HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness and The Trans List. with Jonathan Van Ness, HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness and The Trans List.

Aditya Shrivastava

Aditya Vikram is a poet, and student of English literature. They are interested in thinking about language, performance, gender, inheritance, and translation, as experienced in South Asian contexts.

Their poems have been published on many platforms including Gulmohur Quarterly, Agents of Ishq, Remington Review, Juniper Lit Mag, Wingword Poetry Prize, and others. Their work on gender and stolen inheritances was featured in The Museum of Memories, funded by the British Council. A collection of their poems, ‘A Gaze So Tender’, was published by the Goethe Institute

John Oinam

John Oinam is a multi-genre Queer singer-songwriter with over 650 shows behind him. Having performed across India, John sings in English, Hindi and Manipuri Hailing from Manipur, Thanga was in the top 30 of Indian Idol (2019) and was one of the finalists at The Stage (Season 2). Now settled down in Delhi, he is focused on personal projects besides performing as part of the Indie band – Blue Meadow.
