Shaastra 2016 – Annual Technical Festival of IIT Madras from January 23-26, 2016

Shaastra is the annual technical festival of Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India and the first ISO 9001:2008 certified festival of its kind. Shaastra returns in its 17th edition, bringing with it an experience of innovation, competition and learning that has become its hallmark over the years.

As always, Shaastra aims to grow and evolve into a technical festival which involves everyone; be it budding engineers, young entrepreneurs, future policy makers or even technocrats. The underlying philosophy of Shaastra is to promote creative thinking and to showcase innovative technology and this is being upheld through various channels.

– To create and sustain a community that encourages thought and learning in which students acquire knowledge through interaction with fellow students as well as the industry.
– To encourage students to explore new frontiers in technical as well as management thought.
– To create and sustain a culture that enables the industry to recognize and reward talent in engineering.

Scheduled to be held from January 23rd to January 26th, 2016, Shaastra boasts of being one of the finest techno-managerial fests in the country. Shaastra 2015 saw a footfall of around 50,000 visitors from across the country. Our stages have been graced by some of the biggest names in Industry and Academia as well as the brightest young minds from across the country.
