We’re back for another session of our virtual campfire experience. This time with our highly accomplished Knowledge Contributor – Peter Van Geit who will take us through his surreal experiences and answer any hiking questions you might have. But, it doesn’t end there- Peter will be taking us through his concept of Ultra Journeys. For some of us who aren’t familiar with that term- ultra journeys are long-endurance journeys that are taken over thousands of kilometres in the remote mountains among beautiful, untouched nature for the purpose of rediscovering humanity. So, join us for an evening around the campfire with maggi and garam chai to exchange stories about your hiking experiences.
Let’s get to know Peter
A Solo explorer, Alpinist, Ultrarunner and Minimalist – Peter Van Geit is an expert in exploring the remotest corners of the planet and running thousands of kilometres across the Himalayas. Born in Belgium and now living in India, Peter quit the corporate world in 2017 and is currently full time into travel & exploration. In 2018, he ran 2000K solo in the remote mountains of Vietnam and hiked 40 passes in the Himalayas. In the summer of 2019, he fast hiked 3000K across the Himalayas exploring 120 lesser-known high passes. In the winter of 2019, he climbed 200 forts of Shivaji Maharaj in the Sahyadris in just 2 months. One time when he was standing eye to eye with a big sloth bear, the bear ran off because he had not washed himself for 6 days.
