Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival

The celebrated and much acclaimed Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival steps into its sixth year in 2019. It’s been an illustrious journey during the course of which, the event has grown to become one of the premier features in the cultural calendar of the twin cities. Over the years, the festival has hosted several premier shows (India and Global) and has been featured prominently in several publications, electronic media and film journals.

True to its spirit of spreading cultural awareness far and wide, the festival features movies in several Indian regional languages such as Telugu, Marathi, Kashmiri, Urdu, Hindi, English and others besides Bengali. Growing big with every year, several new segments have come to occupy pride of places, such as Seed, a showcase of short and documentary films from all over the world, retrospectives, exhibitions and more. This year, we are proudly presenting Indus Tale, our biggest ever carnival comprised of stalls across a range of verticals such as art, decor, beauty & fashion, food, technology, startup and more. We’ll also have an open stage, Esprimiti, for the audience to perform and engage with the crowd, contributing to a vibrant ambience.

As for films, we have a carefully curated bouquet that’ll prove to be thought-provoking and delightful. A separate segment commemorating 100 years of Bengali cinema represented by legendary works will be a highlight as well. A number of distinguished guests from the film fraternity will be in attendance and interact with the audience. As always, we’ll have films representing guest languages and several national and world premiers. We will be operating from two venues-Prasad Preview Labs and Annapurna International School of Film + Media, at Banjara Hills.

Do join us for an exciting, action-packed 4 days from the 18th to 21st of July to celebrate cinema like never before.
